Some business relationships last a few years. Others become part of the history and tradition of the event itself.
For more than 50 years, Crocker Bros has been proud to support Moreton Show, supplying and building the marquees that help transform the showground each year for one of the Cotswolds' best-known agricultural events.
It's a relationship that means a great deal to us, particularly because both Moreton Show and Crocker Bros have histories firmly rooted in the traditions of British county and agricultural shows.
Two Stories Stretching Back More Than 75 Years
Moreton Show was first held in 1949 on part of the Batsford Estate, the same location it continues to occupy today.
The Show was created following the amalgamation of three local organisations: the Cotswold Agricultural Society, the Moreton Shire Horse Society and the Moreton-in-Marsh and District Agricultural Society.
Their aim was to improve the breeding and rearing of livestock, hunters and heavy horses, while raising standards in farming and farm crafts.
The first Moreton Show took place on Saturday 3rd September 1949, beginning a tradition that has continued in early September ever since.
Today, Moreton Show has grown into one of Gloucestershire's leading agricultural shows, bringing together British farming, livestock, equestrian competitions, food, rural crafts, trade stands and family entertainment.
Our Own Story Began at a County Show
There's a fitting connection between the history of Moreton Show and the beginnings of Crocker Bros.
Our marquee business dates back to 1947, when Crocker Brothers were asked to assist with erecting marquees for the Derby County Show.
Rather unusually, instead of receiving a conventional payment for the work, the brothers received the marquees themselves.
Those marquees helped start a business that would go on to provide marquee hire and event infrastructure for showgrounds, agricultural events, festivals, corporate events and celebrations throughout the UK.
More than 75 years later, we're still doing what started it all – putting up marquees for some of Britain's great events.
Over 50 Years Supporting Moreton Show
Our relationship with Moreton Show now stretches back more than half a century.
For over 50 years, Crocker Bros has been trusted to provide marquee structures for the Show, working alongside the organisers to help prepare the showground for the thousands of exhibitors, competitors and visitors who come together for this special annual event.
It's the type of long-standing relationship we're particularly proud of.
Large agricultural shows require considerable planning and coordination behind the scenes. Marquees need to be delivered, positioned, erected and ready within carefully managed timescales, with teams working together to ensure everything is prepared before the gates open.
After more than five decades working with Moreton Show, it's a process and partnership that has become an important part of our own company history.
A Family Business Across Generations
Perhaps the most special aspect of reaching the 50-year milestone is that Crocker Bros itself has continued through different generations of the family.
From father to daughter and from one generation to the next, the knowledge, experience and commitment behind the business have been passed down while the marquee industry itself has continued to evolve.
The structures, equipment, vehicles and technology we use today may be very different from those used decades ago, but some things haven't changed.
Reliability, experience, hard work and doing what we say we're going to do remain just as important today as they were when the company first became involved with show marquees back in 1947.

For more than 50 years, those two stories have been connected.
